On-Reserve Health Programs and Services in Alberta

Partnerships

In the last few years, a number of First Nations communities have begun working more regularly with Alberta Health Services (AHS) and their local Primary Care Network (PCN). Through these partnerships, First Nations communities seek greater access to health services and better relationships with a number of key providers. Alberta Health Services support First Nations clients and families in ensuring care coordination between AHS services and programs and First Nations health services. The care coordination is provided through Aboriginal Liaison, Cultural Helpers and Aboriginal Care Coordinators.
